Mike’s favorite things include river rafting, homemade huckleberry pie, and telling dad jokes to his wife and two daughters. His friends love to point out that he is a five-time champion on the TV game show Jeopardy!.

Mike is an accomplished strategic communications professional with more than 20 years of experience handling complex national technology, policy, and business issues. As a key advisor to federal agencies and large and small commercial organizations, he has a proven record of developing proactive, creative, and effective communications that exceed expectations and enhance clients’ mission performance and organizational success.
With Spire, Mike has led development and implementation of high-impact strategic communications initiatives at the Defense Health Agency’s Connected Health branch, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Army Research Laboratory (ARL), and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). An innovator and entrepreneur at heart, he previously created two successful consulting practices serving government agencies and commercial clients including Samsung, Microsoft Corporation, Booz Allen, Symantec and Battelle.
Mike has a Master of Science in journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from the Program of Liberal Studies at the University of Notre Dame.
