Tabatha Thompson
Account Director

“I am fortunate that every workday presents an opportunity to be amazed. It’s even more gratifying that my job is to make engineering and technology advances more accessible to the public.”

Tabatha has more than 20 years of experience conveying complex ideas to the public as a journalist and strategic communications adviser. At Spire, she supports communications for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to further national security priorities in space, on the ground, in the air, and at sea.

As lead communications officer for NASA’s commercial space portfolio, Tabatha engaged with the public and media worldwide to share Earth-based benefits of space-based research and a growing private sector space industry. Her previous PR agency experience includes crisis communications training for a national restaurant chain, rebranding a regional hospital company, and community relations for hospital acquisition companies.

Before delving into behind-the-scenes communications work, she was a writer for CNN International and heard around the world as an anchor and reporter at CNN Radio. She also was a public radio reporter and producer.

Tabatha earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Western Kentucky University.
