Typical tasks will included creating logos, signs, animated videos, and high-quality 3D renderings of scientific research experiments, topics, and facilities.

ABOUT THE Our Client – Army Research Lab

The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Army Research Lab (ARL) is focused on cutting-edge scientific discovery and technological innovation to support the warfighter.

Your work will support topics ranging from biotechnology, mechanics, cyber sciences, and more. You’ll also collaborate with other Spire team members and ARL leaders who are supporting Army modernization.

The work will be varied–from presentations, flyers and logos to lifelike 3D computer-generated imagery and animated video graphics.

You’ll thrive as a Multimedia Designer with 3D Capabilities at Spire if:

You excel at creating compelling graphics that clarify scientific and technical information for internal and public communications.
Actively participate in all areas of the creative process, serving as an innovative resource beginning with project conceptualization.
You know your craft – the principles, processes, and tools that professional designers use to deliver their best work. You probably have an opinion on Pantone’s color of the year.
Versatile is your middle name. Print and digital, marketing and informational, templates and one-offs. Brochures, vector logos, diagrams, image manipulations (Photoshop) and banner stands. You’ve done it all (or almost all).
You welcome a juicy design challenge – perform tasks such as storyboarding, prototyping, rigging, modeling, lighting, surfacing, special effects, real-time rendering. If design were easy, everyone would do it.
You advocate for the reader or user. Getting it right for them is the most important thing.
You welcome feedback from clients, content writers, and other designers, because you’re happiest when your designs get better.
You’ll generate original renderings without the use of wireframes, create complex 3D scenes/objects and backgrounds, and create animated sequences of varied lengthsYou’re not here to rest on your laurels. Graphic design is a constantly changing field and you’re always looking to try new things.
After design, your second love is time management. This is not your first rodeo and you’ve got hacks that keep you on top of your workload.
Quick turnarounds do not fluster you. You have mastered the art of balancing speed, accuracy, complexity, and elegance.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, media arts and design, or similar
7 years of experience in an agency environment or in-house corporate communications team
Portfolio of recent or representative work that showcases your ability to do the job well
Must be eligible to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance
Must have solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages, including Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and Studio Max
