Multimedia Designer with 3D Capabilities

This is a remote work position. Candidates must reside in the Adelphi, MD, area to support occasional onsite work requests.

Are you a graphic artist who creates digital and printed materials demonstrating scientific advances that border on science fiction? Can you wireframe custom conceptualized objects and bring them alive onscreen? Let’s talk.

Spire Communications, a full-service strategic communications firm headquartered in Alexandria, Va., seeks a full-time graphic artist with 3D illustration and animation skills to join our growing team. Typical tasks will included creating logos, signs, animated videos, and high-quality 3D renderings of scientific research experiments, topics, and facilities.

About Spire

We are a boutique, woman-led agency that specializes in technology, health, and science. Our clients are federal agencies and contractors charged with advanced R&D and vital national programs that make life better for all Americans. Our team is committed to the work of these pioneers and public servants. We believe in their missions, marvel at their innovations, and delight in telling their stories.

Every member of our team is a senior-level communicator. This means every assignment is an opportunity to work with and learn from the best strategists and storytellers—designers, videographers, writers, editors, media relations leads, social media managers, and web developers.

We believe in short meetings, solid blocks of focus time, strong creative briefs, clear scopes of work, and candid (but kind) feedback. We take immense pride in delivering Fortune 100-caliber work with small-business agility and service.

The work will be varied–from presentations, flyers and logos to lifelike 3D computer-generated imagery and animated video graphics.

  • You welcome feedback from clients, content writers, and other designers, because you’re happiest when your designs get better.

  • After design, your second love is time management. This is not your first rodeo and you’ve got hacks that keep you on top of your workload.
