eHealth Exchange is the oldest and among the nation’s largest health information exchanges. A Designated Qualified Health Information Network (QHIN), eHealth Exchange facilitates 25 billion patient record exchanges each year.
As an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing health data interoperability, eHealth Exchange serves providers, payers, public health agencies, and more.
To reach these audiences more effectively, the organization needed a website that clearly conveys benefits for participants and showcases its efforts to drive data standards and technology.
They turned to Spire to enhance their existing web presence with more effective messaging and design.

Website Update
To ensure various users can quickly find the information most relevant to them, Spire’s web experts optimized the site’s structure and navigation.
We reorganized site pages and built a mega-menu with intuitive labels. Our design team created images and graphics that clearly convey the complexity of health data interoperability and help visitors understand key information at a glance.
The result is a site that is easy to navigate and visually effective.
Health data interoperability is a complex and potentially confusing concept. To best serve eHealth Exchange’s many audiences, we refined and rewrote much of the website’s content.
New landing pages speak directly to each key audience, using their terminology and highlighting the benefits they value most.
As a result of these design and content updates, eHealth Exchange earned the 2025 award for Website of the Year for a Nonprofit Organization from Swaay.Health, a leading healthcare marketing outlet and community.
The award recognized ehealthexchange.org as the “best website based on ease of navigation, visual appeal, mobile experience, and quality of content.”
